Install and Configure File Server Resource Manager on Windows Server 2012 R2 File Server Resource Manager is use to apply quota on Share folders and it sub folders. File Server Resource Manager is provide two types of quota, hard quota and soft quota. Hard quota: In Hard quota users are not allow to exceed the limit. for example: if Administrator apply 5GB quota on Shared Folder "Folder1", Those users who have access on this Shared Folder "Folder1" only can move 5GB Data. Soft Quota: In Soft quota users are allow to exceed the limit. Soft quota is only use for the monitoring purpose. File Server Resource Manager is also use for file screening policies means user is restrict to not move specific type of file extensions as per the Organization rules. Some times Virtual Hard Disk of Virtual Machine not work properly therefore you can replace the hard disk with new hard disk. You can convert the Virtual Hard Disk from VHD format to VHDX format and Fixed size Virtual Hard Disk to Dynamic size of Virtual Hard Disk. You can also expand the size of Virtual Hard Disk as per the requirement. Add Virtual Hard Disk: To add or replace the Virtual Hard Disk of Virtual Machine right click on Virtual Machine then click on settings. Click on "New" to add or replace the Virtual Hard Disk. Means you can export the complete Virtual Machine as backup from a Physical Machine of Windows Server 2012 R2 and import means restore the complete Virtual Machine to the same or other Physical Machine of Windows Server 2012 R2. Export Virtual Machine: To export the Virtual Machine from Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-v right click on Virtual Machine then click export. Provide the location to preserve the export Virtual Machine, then click on export. In the below image you can see that Virtual Machine in Hyper-v on Windows Server 2012 R2 is exporting.
